The vacuum regulator (ADM 08.200) is designed to maintain a constant pressure in the vacuum line.
The vacuum regulator acts as a safety valve in the event of an emergency failure of the vacuum control system. The vacuum regulator is adjusted by reducing or increasing the number of adjusting washers-weights to a vacuum gauge pressure of 54 ± 1 kPa (0.56 ± 0.01 kgf/cm2). To increase the vacuum value, washers must be added, to reduce – removed. An indicator is used to monitor the vacuum pump’s performance reserve. The indicator flap, which is affected by the air sucked in through the vacuum regulator, shows the presence of suction, which in turn determines the vacuum pump’s performance reserve. The flap arrow in a working vacuum system should be below the pointer marks.
